TOOTH NEWS

Last night my crown fell off......again!
My dentist called me back first thing this morning and scheduled an after school appointment for me at 4PM.
The GOOD thing is that he was able to get me in as fast as he did. The BAD thing was going all day with a lot of pain. Every time I even opened my mouth, the cold air coming in would make my tooth hurt.
OUCHY.
Someone please tell me WHY my dentist refuses to use novocain and always wants to do everything without it? Doesn't he know how much that HURTS? Or maybe he does know and then that means he is a really mean, horrible person.
I had just lost the SAME crown about one month ago and had it re-cemented. THIS time he told me it isn't going to hold and I'm going to have to have a whole OTHER crown made and fitted.
OH, CRY! CRY! CRY!
When he put the very COLD cement on my tooth and then SHOVED my crown back on I thought I was going to jump right out of my skin.
YE-OW-TCH!
There's a couple problems with having to have a NEW crown made.....
#1. It hurts.
#2. It's expensive.
#3. It's near impossible to schedule the time OFF school to get the dental work done.
#4. I'm MAXED out on my insurance for the year, so if I want the work done, I have to pay the FULL price myself. (OUCH!)
#5. I've been told, absolutely NO chewing on that side until it IS replaced.
#6. It is currently HYPER sensitive to hot and cold.
#7. I'm afraid I'm going to end up losing the crown or somehow SWALLOWING my crown in my sleep.
GOOD NEWS?
IS THERE SOME?
Well, I will most definitely lose some weight because I'm NOT going to be able to eat anything EXCEPT for what I can eat with my front teeth. Have you ever TRIED eating with your front teeth only? I guess I will now try the completely LIQUID diet. Actualy, that sounds good, but nothing TOO cold and nothing TOO hot.
Isn't dental work fun?

Hopefully, tomorrow will be better than today. Today my tooth REALLY HURT.
My classroom kids were good again, all three different classes of kids that I see. My daughter was NOT at school today, but she came over AFTER work so I got to spend some time with her. My son is on vacation and he is coming up here tomorrow. My husband is watching PING PONG and DIVING on TV right now. I plan to be IN bed and ASLEEP within the hour. Last night was ANOTHER night of NOT enough sleep. I have GOT to get to bed before MIDNIGHT.
